The charge of the investment committee at RegentAtlantic is to design an investment discipline that will work toward achieving tax-efficient, risk-adjusted returns. The committee consists of eight RegentAtlantic employees who meet bi-weekly to monitor the investment discipline and evaluate new investment opportunities.
Studies have shown* that approximately 90% of portfolios’ return variations are explained by the strategic asset allocation decision. We conduct extensive research on the asset classes we use and we explore new asset classes for inclusion in our clients’ portfolios.
Our investment portfolios contain a number of different investment vehicles including individual bonds, individual stocks, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, structured notes, and in some cases, fund-of-fund hedge funds. At scheduled times throughout each year we have a formal review of each asset class. Each review is done with a zero-based budgeting approach, looking at the full universe of available investment options. We continually monitor the performance of all recommended investments.
